Benjamin R. Field (1828-1903) and Lydia Ellen Brown (1827-1869) were married on 7 March 1849 in Gibson County, Indiana. Benjamin was a son of Abraham Field (1793-1870) and Grace Rainey (1797-1863) of Gibson County, Indiana. Lydia was a daughter of John W. Brown (1794-1852) and Temperence Medley, also of Gibson County. Lydia died in 1869 at the age of 41. After her death Benjamin had 4 other wives. Benjamin and Lydia are the parents of George E. Field (1849 - 1915).
