Hugh Grasz wrote this letter from Malalong, Mindanao, Philippines, August 12, 1905, to A. W. Gantzhorn, Nappanee, Indiana, while serving with Toop C, 14th Regiment, United States Cavalry. Hugh enlisted on August 13, 1903, in South Bend, Indiana, and was honorably discharged as a sergeant on August 12, 1906. He re-enlisted the next day and was honorably discharged August 12, 1909 at Fort Walla Walla, Washington. He was a son of Henry Grass and Mary Dorcas Irwin. |
