Funeral Memorial of Kane Withers Field (1817-1906). Kane was a grandson of Keen Field and Anna Lewis. The name Kane has also been spelled Keene, Keen and Cain. It originated with the Keene Family from Ley, England. The grand daughter of Thomas Keene Jr. (abt. 1593-1659) Elizabeth Keen (abt. 1682-1769), married James Withers (1681-1746) in Stafford County, Virginia, about 1706. Their first child, Elizabeth Withers (1706-?), married Capt. Abraham Field (1699-1774) sometime around 1723, in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. Kane Field, of this funeral notice, was Kane Withers Field. His name is often spelled Keen and his grandfather was know as Cain and Keen Field (abt. 1774-1815). The name Keen has been used in the family in nearly every generation down to Austin Keen Field born about 1991.
