Benjamin R. Field (1828-1903) was a son of Abraham Field (1793-1870) and Grace Rainey (1797-1863) of Gibson County, Indiana.
Grace Field Smith (1867-1889) was a daughter of Benjamin and his first wife Lydia Ella Brown (1827-1869). She was born in Gibson County, Indiana on 10 March 1867 and married James S. Smith (1862-1939), son of James S. Smith (1835-1862) and Sarah Ann Davis (1836-1869) on 27 January 1886 in Gibson County. She died of tuberculosis, called, at that time, consumption, just three years after her marriage.
Sarah Field Turpen (1860-1889) was born in Gibson County on 21 January 1860 and was another daughter of Benjamin and Lydia. She married William Henry Turpen (1858-) on 1 February 1888 and died just over one year later on 12 March 1889
