Arthur Clarence Field and his wife Mary Estella Whitcomb hosted a picnic in their back yard in Valparaiso, Indiana. This is the George Field home where the party enjoyed the fireworks about the time Clarence and Mary had the picnic. The back yard is large and could accommodate many people. Arthur and Mary are the two people at the far right of the photo. Lavica is the older woman in the middle and Clarence's brothers are Harvey, far left and George Nelson, the young boy with the group of people. Nelson is holding Mary Irene, Clarence and Mary's first child.
